AML compliance software for firms in Waterford

Waterford’s solicitors’ firms, accountancy practices and estate agents serve clients across the south east — property transactions, family businesses, farms and a growing employer base. Every one of those firms is a designated person under the CJA 2010, and every one faces the same date: 10 July 2027, when the EU AMLR replaces the framework their AML policies were written for. The changes are concrete — a €10,000 CDD threshold, an EU-wide cash cap, prescribed compliance roles, harmonised beneficial-ownership rules — and they apply directly, with no Irish transposition to wait for. CompliDesk Ireland gives a Waterford firm a straightforward, guided path to being ready well ahead of the deadline.

Who it’s for

Designated persons in Waterford we’re built for

The AMLR calls them “obliged entities”; Irish law has called them “designated persons” since the CJA 2010. Whatever the label, if your Waterford firm is on this list, the new rulebook applies to you from 10 July 2027.

Accountants & tax advisers

Practices across Waterford city and county — supervised by your accountancy body, or by the AMLCU if you belong to no designated body. The AMLR means a real refresh of your BWRA and CDD procedures.

Solicitors

Conveyancing, probate and commercial work across the south east sits in AML scope; the Law Society of Ireland supervises, and your policies need rebuilding against Regulation (EU) 2024/1624.

What the AMLR changes for a Waterford firm

Regulation (EU) 2024/1624 applies directly across the EU — the same rules in Waterford as in every other member state, with no Irish transposition to wait for. The headline changes:

01

€10,000 CDD threshold

Customer due diligence for occasional transactions is triggered at €10,000 — down from €15,000 under the current framework.

02

€3,000 occasional-cash CDD

Occasional cash transactions of €3,000 or more trigger limited customer due diligence, wherever clients still pay in cash.

03

€10,000 EU cash cap

A directly applicable EU-wide cap of €10,000 on cash payments for commercial transactions, whether a single operation or linked ones.

04

25% beneficial ownership + RBO duties

A harmonised EU-wide beneficial-owner definition at 25% or more, direct or indirect — with the Commission able to set a lower threshold of 15% or lower for high-risk sectors by delegated act. Irish RBO duties continue: obtain an extract (€2.50 each) before a new business relationship and report discrepancies.

05

Prescribed compliance roles

A board-level compliance manager plus a compliance officer of sufficiently high standing — required even in small firms. From 10 July 2027 the compliance officer also implements targeted financial sanctions.

06

STR dual reporting stays

Suspicious Transaction Reports remain dual-reported in Ireland: to FIU Ireland via the goAML portal, and to the Revenue Commissioners via ROS as an XML upload.

No office visit needed

Reports prepared online

Build your BWRA, policy pack and STR records in the platform, and export goAML-compatible XML for your MLRO to file.
