AML compliance software for firms in Dublin

Dublin has Ireland’s deepest concentration of designated persons: accountancy practices and tax advisers from the docklands to the suburbs, solicitors’ firms of every size, estate and letting agents in a busy sales and rental market, and the trust and company service providers that support corporate and international structures. All of them have run AML programmes under the Criminal Justice Act 2010 for years — and on 10 July 2027 the substantive rulebook those programmes were built on is replaced by the EU’s directly applicable AMLR. CompliDesk Ireland gives Dublin firms one system to rebuild the risk assessment, client due diligence and reporting workflow to the new regulation, without a consultancy-sized bill.

Who it’s for

Designated persons in Dublin we’re built for

The AMLR calls them “obliged entities”; Irish law has called them “designated persons” since the CJA 2010. Whatever the label, if your Dublin firm is on this list, the new rulebook applies to you from 10 July 2027.

Accountants & tax advisers

From sole practitioners to multi-partner Dublin firms — supervised by your accountancy body (Chartered Accountants Ireland, ACCA, CPA Ireland and the other recognised bodies), or by the AMLCU if unaffiliated.

Solicitors

Conveyancing, probate and corporate work in Dublin all sit squarely in AML scope. The Law Society of Ireland is your AML supervisor and can inspect your files.

Estate & letting agents

PSRA-licensed and PSRA-supervised. The AMLR also brings letting agents into scope for tenancies with monthly rent of €10,000 or more — a change worth knowing about at the top end of the market.

TCSPs

Dublin’s company formation and corporate services sector is supervised by the AMLCU — which has held administrative financial sanction powers since 30 June 2026 (S.I. No. 307 of 2026).

High-value goods dealers

Dealers accepting large cash payments face the directly applicable €10,000 EU cash cap and the €3,000 occasional-cash CDD trigger.

What the AMLR changes for a Dublin firm

Regulation (EU) 2024/1624 applies directly across the EU — the same rules in Dublin as in every other member state, with no Irish transposition to wait for. The headline changes:

01

€10,000 CDD threshold

Customer due diligence for occasional transactions is triggered at €10,000 — down from €15,000 under the current framework.

02

€3,000 occasional-cash CDD

Occasional cash transactions of €3,000 or more trigger limited customer due diligence, wherever clients still pay in cash.

03

€10,000 EU cash cap

A directly applicable EU-wide cap of €10,000 on cash payments for commercial transactions, whether a single operation or linked ones.

04

25% beneficial ownership + RBO duties

A harmonised EU-wide beneficial-owner definition at 25% or more, direct or indirect — with the Commission able to set a lower threshold of 15% or lower for high-risk sectors by delegated act. Irish RBO duties continue: obtain an extract (€2.50 each) before a new business relationship and report discrepancies.

05

Prescribed compliance roles

A board-level compliance manager plus a compliance officer of sufficiently high standing — required even in small firms. From 10 July 2027 the compliance officer also implements targeted financial sanctions.

06

STR dual reporting stays

Suspicious Transaction Reports remain dual-reported in Ireland: to FIU Ireland via the goAML portal, and to the Revenue Commissioners via ROS as an XML upload.

No office visit needed

Everything runs online — wherever in Dublin you are

We’ll be straight with you: CompliDesk doesn’t have an office on your street, and it doesn’t need one. It’s cloud software hosted in the EU — AWS eu-west-1, Dublin — so a firm in Dublin onboards clients, screens them and prepares its reports entirely online.

Onboard clients from your desk

Send a secure onboarding link; identity verification (KYC and KYB) runs through Didit online. No paper packs, no office visit.

Screen and monitor anywhere

Sanctions and PEP screening against EU, UN and PEP datasets via OpenSanctions runs in the browser — at onboarding and on an ongoing basis.

Reports prepared online

Build your BWRA, policy pack and STR records in the platform, and export goAML-compatible XML for your MLRO to file.

Demos over video call

Every demo is a video call at a time that suits your practice — book one and see the platform on your own screen.
